Extraordinary Minister

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion & Home Bound Ministers of Holy Communion


These specially trained volunteers assist the priest in distributing the Eucharist at Mass. In addition, some Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion also serve our parish by bringing communion to parishioners who reside in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or in their own homes and are unable to get to church.


Qualifications


For one to serve as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion:


  1. The person should be 18 years of age; baptized and confirmed.
  2. The person should be approved by his/her Pastor.
  3. The person must be able to receive the Sacraments.
  4. Prior to ministry, a training is required.
